A customer is running Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Sp2. They were using a terminal server where Microsoft Dynamics GP was installed. A user was clicking on an Item Note but the window would not open. The menu items would be grey like it was trying to open but nothing opened. This was only happening for this terminal server, the SQL server was fine.
During my troubleshooting, I came across a blog talking about the same thing. The notes window size values were being saved to the Dex.in file and needed to be changed. So I got everyone off the terminal server. Made a copy of the Dex.ini file that is located it the Data folder where Microsoft Dynamics GP is installed. I then edited the Dex.in and modified this row to have the following properties:
NoteWindow=37,37,450,29
I logged back into Microsoft Dynamics GP, navigated to the Item Maintenance window, found an item with a record level note, clicked on the icon and the window opened for me. I could then resize it. Once I got out, all other users could see the notes window again since this was a terminal server, they were sharing the same settings in the Dex.ini file.
