Have you recently upgraded to GP 2013 R2 and your ribbon command areas on your windows now include buttons that were previously arranged on your window?  If you aren’t as excited about the new look and feel of the windows with regards to the ribbon area, the look of this command area can be changed per user using the User Preferences Window (Microsoft Dynamics GP – User Preferences).

If you open this window, there is a drop box called “Window Command Display” with three options:

  1. Action Pane – This is the default with the install which has a large ribbon area and some of the buttons such as Distribution have moved to the buttons in the ribbon area.

  2. Action Pane Strip – in this view, again some of the buttons have moved to the ribbon areabut the ribbon area isn’t as large.

  3. Menu Bar – which is what most users are used to puts the buttons back on the window and gives the look and feel of the windows in previous versions of the product.

I hope this helps, some users get use to the look and feel of the way the system was, while other users embrace new changes.   The option to make this change per user should accommodate all users.
