The Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 release was officially announced November 30 and is now available both online and on-premise in 130 markets and in 44 languages. This is one of most comprehensive and exciting updates to Dynamics CRM in years as Microsoft pushes to gain ground on CRM market leaders like Oracle and Salesforce.  The video below gives the low-down on what’s new in the Dynamics CRM 2016 Release.  You can check out CRM hosting options and integration to Dynamics ERP on the hosted Dynamics CRM cloud services page.

“The pace of innovation in the CRM market continues to accelerate, with established vendors continuing to improve their functionality and usability and new and edge entrants filling capability gaps and offering new enhancements,” said Rebecca Wettemann, VP of research at Nucleus Research. “Given the propensity of customers to re-evaluate their CRM options on an ongoing basis, vendors must continue to innovate just to keep up.”

While there are many significant changes and updates in the Dynamics CRM 2016 release, the big takeaway is the new software is more intelligent through Social Engagement and better integration to Office and other productivity tools.  The release also offers available A.I. capabilities through Microsoft’s Azure Machine Learning services. These tools will enable intelligent customer service and intelligent sales processes.

Intelligent Customer Engagement and Intelligent Selling

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 integrates better with social networks and is able to distill and analyze social data.  This will help sales teams to predict new market changes and new demands, plus they will be able to predict customer service related issues to improve customer experience.

“The integration with Cortana will enable ‘intelligent selling’ with cross-sell recommendations so sales reps can predict which products and services customers will need at various stages of the sales cycle,” said Linda Rosencrance in a recent blog post.

Azure Machine learning services are also available for CRM and Azure customers.  Machine learning will empower greater intelligence and predictability.  There is some good info about machine learning for Dynamics ERP in this post.

User Productivity in Dynamics CRM 2016 Release

Microsoft is also delivering enhancements in productivity and mobility in the Dynamics CRM 2016 updates. With improved cloud usability, better integration to Office 365 and Cotana, plus a better app for Outlook, the Dynamics CRM 2016 release works on most phones and tablets and offers full offline capabilities.

Improving cloud, mobile and integration has been a common factor among all the latest and upcoming releases from the Microsoft Dynamics team.  The recent releases of Dynamics GP and NAV have both seen improvements to intelligence and mobility, and the upcoming Dynamics AX7 release is expected to see similar upgrades.

Stay tuned as we will keep you posted about the new versions of Dynamics software including the Dynamics CRM 2016 release.
