Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2 was released June 1, 2015, and is now generally available for customers to download from Customer Source. Boasting more than a handful of new features, GP 2015 R2 simplifies the end-user experience, eases daily workloads and increases productivity through updates based on user feedback in the Microsoft Dynamics community.

With reporting and business intelligence remaining a strong focus in most organizations, some of the most widely requested features facilitate a simpler, more intuitive reporting experience.

Here are 3 new Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2 reporting features :

Display Debits before Credits

One of the most suggested features was to place Debits before Credits by default in the account transaction reporting options, providing a more intuitive experience for accountants. Previously, the Credit column displayed before the Debit column.

This feature is seen in SmartLists, Excel Reports, and the database tables and views that the reports are based on.

Default SmartList Visibility

When creating a new SmartList Favorite, users now have control over who has visibility of the SmartList Favorite, including: System, Company, User Class, and User ID. The default visibility option is System, unless otherwise specified.

SmartList Designer Create View

This new feature adds flexibility to key methods for generating reports.

Working in SmartList Designer, users can now send a SmartList through workflow to create a SQL view based on the SmartList query. This SQL view can be used outside of GP to create reports using SQL reporting services or Power BI reports in Excel. It also enables users to publish the SmartList as a refreshable Excel report from inside of GP.

In addition to these features, here are the new reporting features that were included in the initial Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 release:
